This 4 days double gorilla trekking in Bwindi from Kigali is an interesting gorilla trekking tour that will take you to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park in southwestern Uganda, where you will be able to visit two separate gorilla families and compare their behaviours and habits, among others. Detailed itinerary
Day 1: Pick up and transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park.
You will be welcomed by our driver guide from your hotel or Kigali airport, who will brief you about the safari and later go for a short city tour in Kigali, where you will visit the Kigali Genocide Memorial Centre, Kimironko market, among other places. After the city tour, you will start the journey to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park with an en route lunch on the way. Upon arrival, you will check into the lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 2: First gorilla trekking experience
You will have an early breakfast, carry a packed lunch and meet up with your driver guide to go for a gorilla trekking briefing at the park headquarters, after which you will be allocated a habituated gorilla family and a park guide. Trekking mountain gorillas in Bwindi National Park starts at around 8:00 am and takes about 2 to 7 hours, depending on where the gorillas slept the previous night.
During trekking, you will be able to view other primates; forest bird species; plant and tree species, among others, and once the gorillas are found, you will be allowed to spend one hour with them in their environment, which gives you a chance to watch them feed, breastfeed, groom young ones, take photos and record videos. After the one hour with the gorillas, you will trek back to the park headquarters, where you will be awarded a gorilla trekking certificate and later meet up with your driver guide to transfer to the lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 3: Second gorilla trekking experience
After an early breakfast, your driver guide will pick you up from the lodge with your lunch box to transfer to the park headquarters for a briefing about the rules, regulations and expectations of gorilla trekking. After the briefing, you will be allocated another gorilla family to trek and start hiking in the jungle with an experienced park guide and park rangers. During gorilla trekking, which takes about 2 to 7 hours depending on the location of the gorillas, you will be able to view other wildlife species, and once the gorillas are found, you will be allowed to spend one hour with them, compare their behaviours, watch them carry out their daily activities, take photos and record the moments.
After gorilla trekking, you will meet up with your driver guide to go for a cultural tour where you will be able to interact with the Batwa people, learn about their lifestyle, culture, and way of living; learn how local beer is made from bananas; enjoy the coffee process; and listen to traditional songs and dances, among others. After the cultural tour, return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 4: Departure to Kigali
You will have breakfast at leisure, check out of the lodge and meet up with your driver guide to start the journey back to Kigali. On the way, you will have en route lunch and enjoy amazing views of the scenery, rolling hills, terraced farmlands, tea and banana plantations, among others. Upon arrival in Kigali, your driver guide will drop you off at Kigali International Airport for your flight or drop you off at any place of advice.
