Day 1 : Pick up and transfer to Volcanoes National Park
On the 3 days gorilla trekking and Chimpanzee trekking in Rwanda, a guide will exchange greetings with you once you see him at the airport. He will brief you and then take you to some places in Kigali for a tour. You will start with a visit to kandt house museum where you will learn about the history and culture of Rwanda and you will be able to see displays at this museum. The guide will then transfer you to Rwanda art museums to see the amazing art pieces that showcase Rwanda’s history and culture. You will then go to the hotel for lunch.
A guide will transfer you from the hotel in Kigali after lunch and take you to Volcanoes National Park. There are numerous accommodations in volcanoes national park which you will select one upon arrival and you will check in. After, you will have dinner and retire for your night rest.

Day 2 : Gorilla trekking and transfer to Nyungwe National Park
On the 3 days gorilla trekking and Chimpanzee trekking in Rwanda, you will have breakfast early in the morning on day 2 and you head for briefing to the park headquarters with the guide. You will be given the rules and regulations you have to follow when conducting a gorilla trek and after you will be give a guide to escort you. On your gorilla trek, you will see other animals as you search for the gorilla and a number of bird species. You will also see a number of tree species and this activity may take you about 30 minutes to 5 hours. After seeing the gorillas, you will stay with them for one hour and you will get all the required information in that time. You will then be transferred to the lodge and you will eat lunch. You will check out and meet with the guide.
Immediately after the lunch at the lodge and checking out in volcanoes national park, the guide will transfer you to Nyungwe National Park with a stopover at iby’iwacu cultural center. You will interact with the people that you will find at this center and they will be able to give you details about the traditions, culture and beliefs of the Rwandese people. They will go ahead to teach you how they prepare there local dishes and you will be able to taste their food if time allows you. The guide will then transfer you to Nyungwe National Park. You will spend a night at the lodge in Nyungwe and you will also gave dinner at that very lodge before you sleep.

Day 3 : Chimpanzee trekking and transfer to Kigali airport
On the 3 days gorilla trekking and Chimpanzee trekking in Rwanda, you will have breakfast on day 3 at the lodge in Nyungwe National Park. A guide will pick you from the lodge and drive you to Nyungwe National Park headquarters. The park guides will brief you on how you are supposed to conduct yourself while on a chimpanzee trek. You will be told what you are supposed to do and what you are supposed to avoid when trekking to find the chimpanzees. You will spend about 2 to 5 hours on the search for the chimpanzees. You will trek with the ranger guide to the jungle following the trails. Chimpanzee trekking is most favorable to carry it out in the dry season because the trails in the jungle are dry and less slippery enabling easy movement. Despite the fact that it is most suitable in the dry season, it is offered at the park at any time of the year. Once you spot the chimpanzees, you will stay with them for only one hour and you will use this time to draw your conclusions and observations. The guide will also give you more information about them and will be ready to answer your questions.
The guide will after the chimpanzee trek transfer you back to the lodge and once you get to the lodge, you will have your lunch and check out the lodge.
