5 Days Bwindi And Kibale Park Uganda Primates Safari

This is a 5 days Bwindi and Kibale primates safari where you will have a tour of two famous Uganda National Parks. Bwindi Impenetrable National Park is famous for sheltering a large number of mountain gorillas, and Kibale National Park is famous for being Uganda’s primate capital because it shelters about 13 primate species. You will be able to engage in chimpanzee trekking and a Bigodi swamp walk while at Kibale National Park and a gorilla trek and a Batwa cultural experience while at Bwindi Impenetrable National Park.

Detailed itinerary for the 5 days Bwindi and Kibale Primates Safari

Day 1: Pick up from Kampala and transfer to Kibale National Park

You will be picked up from a hotel in Kampala by our company representative. You will start the drive to Kibale National Park after a briefing about this Uganda safari. You will have several eye-catching sights as you drive to Kibale National Park. You will have a stopover at Amabere Ga Nyinamwiru caves for exploration, and then, after, you will head to a hotel in Fort Portal town for lunch. After having lunch, you will proceed to Kibale National Park, and upon arrival, you will check into a lodge, have dinner and retire to bed.

Day 2: Chimpanzee trekking and a Bigodi swamp walk

You will have breakfast, and after having breakfast, you will leave the lodge and go for chimpanzee trekking. You will first be briefed by the park wardens, and then you will begin chimpanzee trekking with an experienced armed ranger guide. You will search for the chimpanzees for about 30 minutes to 4 hours, and this depends on their location. You will spend only one hour with the chimpanzees, and then you will head back to the lodge after making your observations.

You will have lunch at the lodge, and then you leave the lodge, and you go for a Bigodi swamp walk. You will have views of a variety of primates, birds and eye-catching landscapes. You will, after getting back to the lodge, have a bath, and then you will be served dinner. You will then retire to bed.

Day 3: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

You will have breakfast at the lodge, and after you will check out of the lodge. The guide will pick you up from the lodge, and you set off to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. You will have a stopover for lunch at a hotel, and then you will proceed. You will arrive in the evening at Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, and you will check into a lodge. You will freshen up, have dinner and retire to bed.

Day 4: Gorilla trekking and Batwa cultural experience

You will have breakfast in the morning, and after that, you will go for a briefing. After briefing you about gorilla trekking, you will set off to go and meet a gorilla family with the company of an armed ranger guide. It will take about 30 minutes to 7 hours while you are searching for the Uganda gorillas. You will spend 1 hour with the gorillas, and then you will get back to the lodge.

You will be served lunch at the lodge, and after lunch, you will relax for a while, and then you will leave the lodge and head to the Batwa community for a cultural experience. You will meet with the Batwa locals who will educate you about their culture, traditions and history. You will learn about their ancient hunting and food-gathering skills. The guide will then drive you back to the lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 5: Depart for Kampala

You will have breakfast, and after you will check out of the lodge. You will start the journey back to Kampala. You will have an en route lunch in Mbarara and then proceed to Kampala. You will either be dropped at a hotel in Kampala or be taken to Entebbe Airport for a flight.
